The new headquarters for Aragón Energía in Santiago de Chile functions as a sophisticated climatic experiment. By reimagining the vast volume of a reconditioned logistics shell as a protective thermal envelope, the project moves away from traditional office typologies to create a "building-within a building." This approach treats the industrial structure not merely as a container, but as a host for a thriving indoor ecosystem where human productivity is immersed in a natural landscape.
Aragon Headquarter - WIP
The architectural intervention is defined by a series of translucent, organic pods that sit within the height of the original warehouse. Clad in polycarbonate and supported by a lightweight metal framework, these volumes house the core administrative, marketing, and social functions of the company. The interstitial space between the pods and the warehouse skin is reclaimed as a verdant garden of mature trees and plants. This lush environment acts as a living filter, where the old structure regulates the temperature of the new, allowing for a workspace that breathes through a protected microclimate.
Strategic connectivity unifies the site’s diverse functions. The original office building has been meticulously refurbished to serve as the formal threshold, containing the main entrance, executive suites, and meeting rooms. From this solid point of origin, the plan transitions into the ethereal, light-filled atmosphere of the warehouse interior. By fostering a constant dialogue between the refurbished industrial past and a bio-centric future, the headquarters establishes a singular atmosphere where the mechanical rhythm of logistics meets the restorative qualities of the natural world.
